Each year, nearly one million teenagers in the U.S. – approximately 10 percent of all 15-19 year-old females – become pregnant. About one third of these teens abort their pregnancies, 14% miscarry, and 52% bear children, 72% of them out of wedlock. More than 9 in 10 teens who give birth keep their babies; few place their babies for adoption.

Do You Think Your Daughter is Sexually Active?
Many mothers are concerned about their daughter’s sexual activity, even when their daughters are at the early ages of 13. It is devastating for those who are young, frightening, and contributes to psychological problems such as depression and anxiety. If you think your child is being sexually active, it is important to talk to her as soon as possible. Yes, I’m sure it is difficult to talk to your daughter about sexual activity, but it is important to talk to her as if she is an adult. Rather than starting the conversation off with shame or blame, simply ask her what has been on her mind recently. Explain the dangers associated with sexual activity, both psychological and physical. Let her know, however, that you are always there for her and are there when she wants to open up. If she does acknowledge having sex, don’t yell at her or shame her for what she has done. Ask her how it has affected her.
If you think that your daughter is sexual active, it may be time to seek an alternative school. Public schools are prone to sexual activity, seeing as how it’s the new “trend” for youngsters. Quite the contrary, however, are Christian boarding schools like New Creations, which allows guys and girls to socialize with one another, yet keeps them far enough apart as well.
