Unplanned Pregnancy Help in Sumter, South Carolina

The Light at the End of the Tunnel

“I don’t have the first clue about having a baby.” “I’m pregnant and everyone is telling me to do something different – I don’t know what to do.”

Does this sound like you, facing your unplanned pregnancy? Feeling scared? Alone?

At Sumter’s Light of Hope Pregnancy Center, we’re here to help you sort through your feelings and emotions. At the same time, we can help you understand all of your options for your pregnancy, including abortion and abortion-alternatives, like adoption and parenting. Our Sumter pregnancy center can also provide you with information on the morning after pill and RU 486 (the abortion pill).

Many of our peer counselors have been where you are – facing an unplanned pregnancy with a lot of questions, few answers, and even fewer resources to support a child. We’re here to help you, just as we’ve helped more than 6,000 women in Sumter, Lee and Clarendon Counties in South Carolina for the past 15 years.

If you suspect that you’re pregnant, but aren’t certain – or have taken a home pregnancy test but don’t trust the results – we can provide you with a free laboratory-rated pregnancy test. Our tests have a 99% accuracy rating and can determine whether you’re pregnant in as little as one week from the date of conception.

In addition to counseling services, we also provide free referrals to other community services, including housing, legal aid, and financial assistance. Maternity clothing and essential infant care items are also available.

We can be your light at the end of the tunnel. Our services are free-of-charge and confidential. We’re located at 207 N. Main Street in downtown Sumter, S.C. – just down the street from the main post office. Call us at 803-773-8858 or toll-free at 800-671-0681 for an appointment. Or walk-in on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10:00am and 2:00pm.
